In Hangzhou, Zhang Zhizhen won an all-Chinese clash over countryman Bu Yunchaokete. The No. 6 seed fired 10 aces to 0 double faults and erased all four break points against his serve to secure the 7-6 (3), 6-4 win.
“His performance was really good. For two sets, it was one break. It was a little bit lucky but I am happy with the result today,” said Zhang.
