Each year of the Beanpot, each program has put out a different product from the previous year, from very similar to nothing alike.
Here’s a look at what each team looks like entering Boston’s traditional tournament.
Boston U.
Beanpot titles: 31
Last title: 2022
Boston U. has the most decorated resume at the Beanpot compared to the other three teams, but they’ve struggled to find success recently. The Terriers have won just twice in the last 15 years (2015 and 2022).
They were ranked No. 10 in the latest USCHO rankings, and have the third-best scoring offense in the nation (3.65).
Boston College
Beanpot titles: 20
Last title: 2016
The Golden Eagles haven’t hoisted the Beanpot trophy in nearly 10 years. However, if there was a year to believe they could do it again, this might be the one.
Boston College was ranked No. 1 in the latest USCHO rankings and have lost just four games this season. Forward Ryan Leonard leads the country in goals per game (.83), while the team has the second-best scoring defense (1.74) in the nation.

Harvard
Beanpot titles: 11
Last title: 2017
Like BC, Harvard is closing in on 10 years without a title at TD Garden. The 2024-25 season hasn’t treated them kindly either with a 7-10-2 record.
Since their last title in 2017, they’ve reached the Beanpot championship once, losing to Northeastern in 2023. The Crimson could use Boston’s traditional tournament to turn the year around.

Northeastern
Beanpot titles: 9
Last title: 2024
Another Beanpot title has more than one meaning for the Huskies. They would join the other three Boston-area programs in double-digit titles and would accomplish a three-peat for the second time in the last 10 years. The last time was from 2018-20.
Although Northeastern’s season hasn’t been as successful as Boston College or Boston U. so far, sitting at a 9-11-3 record, a chance to make history might be enough motivation.
