Alexander Zverev’s first trip to Buenos Aires got off on the wrong foot. The German revealed in a post to his Instagram account Sunday that although he arrived in Argentina safely on a flight from Rome, his bags didn’t.
Instead, they ended up more than 8,500 miles away in the Maldives.
“Could anyone explain to me how on earth it is possible for me to fly from Rome to Buenos Aires but my bags instead of coming with me being sent to the Maldives?” Zverev wrote on his story
But Zverev kept a sense of humor about his plight: He then proceeded to joke that his bags might already need a vacation, a humorous follow to his post-match comments after losing a one-sided Australian Open final to Jannik Sinner.
