February 27, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Bonhams|Cars announces a series of key appointments across Europe, reinforcing its leadership in the global collector car auction market. The newly expanded team includes Tomas Schultz as Head of the European Department in Stockholm, Gabriel Rapetti as Senior Specialist in Paris, Max Gagnebin as Senior Specialist in Geneva and London, and Simon Kihlstedt as Specialist in Stockholm. These strategic hires will bolster Bonhams|Cars’ ability to serve clients across Europe, broaden and elevate the offerings at its prestigious annual European sales, and continue to bring extraordinary motorcars to the market.
This announcement follows Bonhams|Cars’ triumphant return to the historic Grand Palais in Paris in early February, where the sale achieved a remarkable €18 million total and a 91% sell-through rate.
“As we move into 2025, we’re ushering in a new era for Bonhams|Cars, reaffirming our dedication to presenting the world’s finest classic cars and cutting-edge supercars at auction,” commented James Knight, Bonhams|Cars Senior Advisor. “These new appointments mark the start of the redevelopment of the European team in order to expand our reach and strengthen our team in key regions across Europe.”
As the newly appointed Head of the European Department, Tomas Schultz brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to Bonhams|Cars. Previously Head of Northern and Central Europe for Collecting Cars, Schultz played a pivotal role in expanding their business across Europe, building a robust network and a highly successful team. With a strong passion for modern classic cars, combined with a background in economics and media, Schultz will oversee Bonhams|Cars’ European operations, including sales in France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Monaco.
“Bonhams|Cars has an incredible reputation as a leading automotive auction house, built on a history of excellence. I am thrilled to join this talented team and contribute to its continued success as we drive into the future,” shared Schultz.
Joining as Senior Specialist in Paris, Gabriel Rapetti brings a deep passion for automobiles and a strong network within the car community. His years of experience in the automotive industry will be a vital asset to the Bonhams|Cars sale calendar, particularly in France and surrounding regions.
Returning to Bonhams|Cars as a Senior Specialist based in Geneva and London, Max Gagnebin brings significant industry experience, having worked at The Classic Motor Hub in the UK and developing a robust network of clients across Europe and beyond. Gagnebin will play a key role in strengthening the market in Switzerland, where Bonhams|Cars has hosted its successful Bonmont Sale for the past five years. He will also continue to leverage his relationships across Switzerland, the UK, and other global regions.
As a Specialist based in Stockholm, Simon Kihlstedt will focus on expanding the Nordic car market, leveraging Bonhams’ network of auction houses, Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen and Bukowskis in Stockholm. Previously a key consignor at Collecting Cars, Kihlstedt also gained valuable experience working at the largest sports car dealership in the Nordics. His expertise will be instrumental in growing Bonhams|Cars’ presence in Northern Europe.
Finally, Stephanie Pinault has joined as Operations Manager in Paris. Pinault brings 13 years of experience in operations and events, including from Peter Auto where she ran many rally and classic motorsport events.
These European appointments follow expansion in the US team, with Nick Smith appointed as Senior Specialist in Los Angeles, Ian Gabriele and Allan Greenfield as Specialists in New York, and Zane Hodgen as Junior Specialist in New York.
