Highlights From the Bonhams|Cars Audrain Concours Auction

NEWPORT, RI – September 25, 2024 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) –  Bonhams|Cars returns to Newport, Rhode Island for one of the most beloved events on its US auction calendar. Held on October 4 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the auction will feature an eclectic mix of desirable collector cars.

Taking center stage as one of the industry’s most recognizable collector cars, is the exceptional 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, estimated at $1,200,000 – 1,400,000. This US-delivered example was owned by Peter and Merle Mullin for 30 years and is finished in silver over dark green leather upholstery. With a build date of November 1957, the car is an excellent candidate for long-distance tours and rallies and also retains its original numbers-matching engine.

1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 KR, estimate $160,000 – 200,000.

Another exciting car offered is the 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 KR. Estimated at $160,000 – 200,000 this iconic muscle car is one of 933 fastbacks built in 1968 with a known history by the Shelby Registry. This highly optioned, well-preserved example is finished in black over black and features the desirable four-speed manual transmission.

1959 Fiat-OSCA 1500 Coupe, estimate $400,000 – 500,000.

Offered for the first time in nearly twenty years is this 1959 Fiat-O.S.C.A. 1500 Berlinetta. Estimated at $400,000 – 500,000, this car has been owned and restored by a passionate Italian car collector. This is the first time the car has been seen since its fresh, exacting restoration. This is the sole O.S.C.A-powered example of which just two were built to this design. It is fitted with the period-correct ‘Bialbero’ twin-cam O.S.C.A. engine and is accompanied by the original engine block.

1989 Porsche 911 ‘Type 930’ Turbo Cabriolet ‘Flachbau’, estimate: $350,000 – 425,000.

Also going under the hammer in Newport, is this 1989 Porsche 911 “Type 930′ Turbo Cabriolet ‘Flachbau’, estimated at$350,000 – 425,0000. Delivered new to Monaco, this fine example has had two previous owners and displays just 9,815 miles on the odometer. Finished in its original Guards Red with Black upholstery, the car has been obsessively preserved and retains its original engine.

The collection of Ernie Boch Jr. offers 10 cars including a brace of Bentley Continental variants presenting the last of the fully English Bentleys. This includes a 1999 Bentley Continental SC, which is one of just 73 ‘Sedanca Coupes’ produced (estimate: $225,000 – 275,000) and two additional Continentals offered without reserve including a 2003 Bentley Continental R Mulliner ‘Final Series’ which is the first of just 11 Final Series Coupes produced (estimate: $120,000 – 150,000) and a superb 2002 Bentley Continental T (estimate: $80,000 – 100,000).
