Kokkinakis was an alternate for Team World at the first-ever Laver Cup in Prague seven years ago, but earned his official team call-up this week as a replacement for Paul. The oft-injured Aussie has delivered on big stages in 2024, winng at least one round at each of the four majors, delivering some upsets along the way. At Wimbledon, he came from two sets down to upset Felix Auger-Aliassime in the first round, and also took out No. 11 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas at the US Open. At Roland Garros, he reached the third round, and pushed Fritz to five sets.
