An action-packed Week 2 of women’s college basketball saw some ranked teams stumble, shaking up the competition.
NCAA.com correspondent Autumn Johnson has revealed the season’s second Power 10 rankings. Check them out here:
Power 10 for the week of Nov. 18, 2024
1. South Carolina — Tied its program record with 42 straight wins, and I don’t see the Gamecocks slowing down with the depth they possess.
2. UConn — This week is set for Geno Auriemma to become the winningest head coach of NCAA DI basketball — men or women. Auriemma tied Stanford’s Tara VanDerveer on Friday when UConn topped North Carolina, 69-58.
3. Southern California — Last week, Juju Watkins became the fastest player in program history to reach 1,000 points, doing so in just 38 games. She is tied for 4th-fastest in the NCAA to hit that mark.
4. UCLA — The Bruins have a HUGE ranking implication game versus South Carolina and an opportunity to make some national noise.
5. Texas — This team continuously proves they could be a Final Four team this year.
6. Notre Dame — Will look to shake things up and challenge USC this weekend.
7. LSU — I’ve been enjoying the backcourt duo of Flau’Jae Johnson and Mikayla Williams.
8. Iowa State — Since we’re talking duos, Audi Crooks and Addy Brown have been a problem.
9. Oklahoma — Raegan Beers has been a game-changer, scoring 20-plus points in every game so far.
10. Maryland — Say hello to MARYLAND. The Terps are rolling with a 4-0 start, including a ranked win over then No. 11 Duke. Depth has been the difference-maker for Brenda Frese.
I also looked at K-State to join the rankings, but there is still plenty of time to do so, paced by Ayoka Lee.
NC State falls out with their 2nd loss of the season to TCU.
