Despite a late third period push from the Eagles, No. 15 Northeastern held on to beat No. 12 Boston College 4-2 and advance to the Women’s Beanpot final.
Northeastern came out HOT. Three quick goals in the first period gave the Huskies an early lead, and they never looked back.
Boston College netted one late in the first period, but they just couldn’t solve Lisa Jönsson for the rest of the game. Lily Shannon added a shorthaned tally late in the second period to make it 4-1 Huskies.
A late Gaby Roy tally with the extra attacker made it 4-2, but it was too little, too late for the Eagles.

The scoring cooled off a bit in the second period, but a shorthanded tally from Lily Shannon extended the Huskies’ lead to three.
BC came out much faster in the second, putting up 12 shots, but Lisa Jönsson made some impressive saves to keep the Huskies in front.
She really is just a freshman.

The Terriers dominated the entire game, outshooting Harvard 41-10, but they just couldn’t find an answer for Harvard goalie Ainsley Tuffy.
That was until RW Sydney Healey found the puck on her stick on the backdoor, and tied the game with 55 seconds left in regulation.
Then in overtime, LW Lindsay Bochna ripped a short-side shot over Tuffy’s blocker to score the game winner in her first Beanpot game to complete the comeback and to send the Terriers to the championship game.
