LONDON, ENGLAND – February 21, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – RM Sotheby’s is delighted to announce an exciting online-only auction which will take place from 23-28 April. The brand-new week-long sale is set to feature a varied and diverse catalogue, with landmark automobiles from every era of motoring to suit a range of tastes and budgets.
Thanks to growing demand in the collector car space, and the exceptional international infrastructure RM Sotheby’s offers, it presents a perfect opportunity for clients from across the UK, Europe and the Middle East to sell cars that will be promoted to our worldwide audience. Clients will also experience the same world-class RM Sotheby’s service, global marketing and access to our international clientele.
An exceptional car set to come to the sale in late April will be the 1993 Jaguar XJ220. The 265th out of a reported 281 examples of Jaguar’s legendary top-speed record breaker, this fine machine is powered by the remarkable 3.5-litre V-6, which gave it an astonishing top speed of 217 mph. Now offered having been upgraded by pre-eminent XJ220 specialist Don Law Racing in 2018, it is now presented with optional BBS light alloy wheels and an improved braking system (Estimate: CHF300,000 – CHF350,000).
Further consignments include a stunning 1971 Ferrari Dino 246 GT by Scaglietti. Estimated at £200,000 – £250,000, it is one of just 506 examples of the ‘M Series’variant, with revisions including engine and chassis tweaks in addition to a wider rear track. Benefitting from a service in January this year by Stratstone Ferrari Colchester, as well as a Massini report, this example has remained with the consigning owner since 1985.
Sholto Gilbertson, Director of Sales UK, says “Due to the unprecedented success of RM Sotheby’s in the UK, Europe and Middle East over the past year, we are delighted to meet demand through putting on this online sale in April. We are looking forward to offering a wonderful breadth of automobiles, all of which retain the same unparalleled quality that RM Sotheby’s offers at its live auctions across the globe. There will be an excellent spread of machinery, which we look forward to offering to our clients old and new in April this year.”
The Ferrari is followed by a duo of exceptional examples that will both be offered without reserve, a 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 ‘Turbo-Look’ Cabriolet, which is estimated to sell for between £80,000 – £120,000, and a 1988 Bentley Continental Convertible by Mulliner Park Ward, which is also offered without reserve and is estimated to sell for between £80,000 – £120,000.
