LONDON, ENGLAND – March 31, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – RM Sotheby’s is delighted to announce the addition of The Mirage Collection to its Shift Online: Europe and Middle East online-only sale set to take place from 23-28 April. Hailing from the United Arab Emirates, the collection boasts an incredible variety of exceptional Mercedes Benzes.
Dwayne Fernandes, Car Specialist, Middle East, says; “We’re thrilled to offer this exceptional single-owner collection within our online sale in April. With such a remarkable breadth of Mercedes-Benzes, there really is something for everyone, with many of the cars being seldom offered to market.”
Headlining the collection comes a 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition. Just 150 of these magnificent SLR McLarens were built to commemorate Stirling Moss’s iconic Mille Miglia 300 SLR ‘722’, with this example having been delivered new to Abu Dhabi. This striking modern supercar is offered in its original colours of Crystal Antimon Grey over a Black/Anthracite leather interior and is estimated to sell for between $600,000 – $700,000 USD.
Rarer still, a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet combines the muscular looks of the touring car-inspired CLK DTM AMG with the thrill of open-top motoring. One of a mere 80 examples of the convertible CLK DTM AMG produced, the model was built by race specialist HWA AG to celebrate Mercedes-Benz winning the 2003 DTM title. With a supercharged 5.4-litre V-8 engine developing 582 horsepower, the car is one of the wildest and most sought-after limited-edition models of its era, while the odometer reads just 3,961 kilometres (Estimate: $500,000 – $600,000 USD).
A stunning example of the now legendary 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II will also be offered from The Mirage Collection. In essence a roadgoing version of AMG-Mercedes’ two-time championship-winning DTM touring car, it ranks among the most sought-after of all homologation specials. Delivered new to Switzerland, this example is presented in its factory-correct colour pairing of Blue-Black Metallic over an Anthracite leather interior and comes with highly desirable factory fitted features such as electric sliding sunroof and air conditioning (Estimate: $280,000 – $320,000 USD).
No Middle East collection would be complete without a desirable G-Wagen, and there are few better than this 2018 Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG ‘Final Edition’. Estimated at $250,000 – $300,000 USD, this tastefully specified 615-kilometre G 65 AMG was one of only 65 examples of the celebratory ‘Final Edition’ produced. This is followed by a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Cabriolet, undoubtedly one of the most elegant and stylish cruisers of the 1960s. This example is presented in the desirable colour pairing of dark green over a tan leather interior and is estimated to sell for between $175,000 – $250,000 USD.
Every inch as glamorous is a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, a final-year example of the legendary Mercedes-Benz which has been part of The Mirage Collection for many years. Finished in red with a tan leather interior and complemented by matching-colour soft-top hood, it is estimated to sell for between $80,000 – $120,000 USD. Last but my no means least, the collection is rounded out by a 1994 Mercedes-Benz 500 E. Known as the “wolf in sheep’s clothing”, the perennially desirable super saloon was jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. The 326 horsepower Autobahn stormer is estimated to sell for between $80,000 – $120,000 USD.
All the cars will be on display at CARS Dubai on April 22nd.
